Designed by Tom Weiskopf, this championship course features 18 holes, par 72, and 7,241 yards. The layout moves through mangroves, natural canals, and Caribbean scenery, incorporating the surrounding landscape into the challenge. Five tee markers per hole also make it adaptable to different skill levels.
The club is also home to Shots Puerto Cancún, a driving range featuring Toptracer technology, as well as private lessons and clinics. That makes it an option even when you don't have the time—or desire—to play a full round.

Iberostar Cancún Golf Club | Play Right in the Hotel Zone
You don't need to leave Cancun's Hotel Zone to find a full golf course.
Designed by Japanese golf veteran Isao Aoki, Iberostar Cancún Golf Club features 18 holes, par 72, and 6,735 yards across a subtropical landscape surrounded by mangroves. Natural inlets from Nichupté Lagoon are incorporated into the course as water hazards.
Location is one of its biggest advantages, particularly if you're staying in the Hotel Zone. The club also features a driving range, restaurant, snack bar, and specialist shop, while current green fees include a cart with snacks and drinks.
Best for: Hotel Zone travelers who want to fit golf into their vacation without spending half the day getting there.
El Tinto Golf Course | Put Your Game to the Test
If you're looking for something more challenging, head slightly outside the main tourist areas.
Located inside Cancún Country Club, El Tinto was designed by major champion Nick Price and stretches across 18 holes and 7,435 yards. The club positions it for both amateur and seasoned golfers, although its length and championship design make it particularly appealing when you want your round to feel like a real challenge.
Facilities include a practice area, golf academy, clubhouse, Pro Shop, snack bar, and H19 Restaurant. Green fees and twilight rates are currently available, although prices can change, so check directly before booking.
Best for: golfers who want the round to become one of the main activities of the day.
Never Played Golf in Cancun Before?
You don't need to build an entire vacation around golf to enjoy it.
If you're a beginner, consider starting with a driving range or lesson. Puerto Cancún offers instruction for beginners, group clinics, and private sessions, making it easier to try the sport without immediately committing to 18 holes.
And if you're only planning to play once, ask about club rentals before booking instead of traveling with your entire golf bag.
Book Early and Play Early
There's one obvious advantage to an early tee time in Cancun: the heat.
Starting in the morning can make the round more comfortable while leaving your afternoon open for lunch, the pool, or another few hours by the Caribbean.
Iberostar Cancún, for example, currently begins tee times at 6:30 AM during summer and estimates approximately four and a half hours to complete a round.
